Finding the right fit

A properly fitting helmet is essential for both safety and comfort. Helmet Hats are designed with an adjustable fit system to ensure a secure and comfortable fit as your child grows.

Step 1: Measure your child’s head

Use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around your child’s head:

  • Position the tape just above the eyebrows

  • Wrap it around the widest part of the head

  • Keep it level all the way around

  • Record the measurement in centimetres

Sizing & Fit

Size: Small, 48 – 54cm head circumference

Adjust for the perfect fit: Noggin Helmet Hats include an adjustable rear dial system.

To fit correctly:

  • Place the helmet level on the head

  • Turn the rear dial to tighten until snug

  • Adjust straps so they sit securely under the chin

  • Helmet should not move excessively when worn

The helmet should feel snug but comfortable.

  • Yes our helmets are certified to US CPSC 16 CFR Part 1203, a standard recognised under Australia’s Consumer Goods (Bicycle Helmets) Safety Standard 2024.

  • Every child is different — and we won’t pretend otherwise. Our Helmet Hats are designed to give you the best possible chance. By combining the look and feel of a hat with certified helmet protection, it feels more familiar, more comfortable, and less like “putting on a helmet”. For many families, this means less resistance and fewer daily battles.

  • Children’s head sizes can vary, so we recommend choosing a helmet based on head circumference rather than age. Our helmets are made for head circumferences of 48 – 54cm. Measure around the widest part of your child’s head and check that the helmet can be adjusted to fit securely and comfortably.

  • Helmet Hats feature an adjustable rear dial system. Simply turn the dial to tighten or loosen the fit so the helmet sits securely and comfortably on your child’s head. The chin straps can also be adjusted to ensure a snug fit.
